In my artistic process, I employ gestural movements that mirror the fluid and instinctive nature of handwriting and calligraphy. Initially, the marks may seem chaotic, but they are carefully crafted to capture the dynamic energy of writing. Every gesture is a response to the moment, blending spontaneity and control. I begin with pencil or graphite, embracing the raw, sketch-like quality before layering more forceful strokes. These scribbles, resembling the cadence of handwriting, create a visual rhythm, reminiscent of calligraphy traditions.
As the written word dissolves into abstraction, letters stretch, distort, and fragment, blurring meaning and inviting viewers to focus on its visual presence rather than its literal interpretation. This tension between text and image shifts language into something purely visual, engaging the viewer on a visceral level.
Using cut-out techniques, I craft new text that reflects my inner emotional state in relation to art. Scribbling loosens my hand, allowing emotion to flow freely across the surface, while my materials—acrylic and modeling paste—add depth. These are layered with pencil, graphite, and oil stick marks, turning the surface into a tactile dialogue between movement, mark-making, and material.
